During the SACC USA Executive Forum in June, the SACC USA Business Award was presented. The initiative is based on an idea from André Persson. We asked him a few questions.
What is SACC USA Business Award?
In short, it is an award to highlight fast growing Swedish companies that operates on the US market. The inspiration comes from Swedish the business daily Dagens Industri’s award called the Gasell Award. The winner of the award is presented once a year at the SACC USA Executive Forum, where the award-winning company’s CEO also gets to be Key-Note Speaker.
Why do we need a business award for Swedish companies, here in the USA?
We think it is important to highlight Swedish companies that are operating on the world’s most important export market, USA. It not only gains more insight around the US business environment, but it will also help to further increase the business focus for the whole SACC USA as well as – hopefully – increase the commitment from, and the cross collaboration between SACC USA chambers and other Swedish organizations in the US.
Who can be nominated?
Any Swedish company that operates on the US market can be nominated. But, to
be eligible for the SACC-USA Business Award, the company must have made a significant contribution to business, investment, and jobs in the United States by meeting one or more requirements, such as an annual sale that exceeds $ 1 million, at least ten employees and doubled its sales, compared to the most recent financial year with the year before. Within short we will publish the full requirement list to be nominated.
What happens next?
All nominated companies will be evaluated by a nominating committee (where SACC Texas will have representatives) and the winner will then be appointed in time for the SACC USA Executive Forum 2023. I am convinced that there are Swedish companies here in Texas that live up to the criteria to be nominated and it would be great fun to see the Swedish-Texas business life being represented in this context.
