TEXAS SCRAMBLE

Rulebook

1.

Team Composition

Each team consists of four (4) players. Teams may be pre-registered or assigned by the tournament committee. All players must hold a valid handicap certificate or club membership.

2.

Texas Scramble Format

All four players tee off on each hole. The team selects the best drive, and all players then play their next shot from that position. This process is repeated until the ball is holed. The ball must be placed within one club-length of the chosen spot (not nearer the hole), except on the green where it is placed within 30 cm.

3.

Minimum Drives

Each player’s drive must be used a minimum of three (3) times during the round. Teams are responsible for tracking this requirement. Failure to comply will result in a two-stroke penalty per missing drive.

4.

Handicap Allowance

The team handicap is calculated as 10% of the combined individual handicaps of all four players. The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust handicaps for fairness.

5.

Pace of Play

Teams are expected to complete the round within four hours and thirty minutes. A maximum of five minutes is allowed to search for a lost ball. Slow play warnings may be issued by marshals, and persistent delays may result in a one-stroke penalty.

6.

Etiquette & Conduct

The Rules of Golf as defined by R&A apply except where modified by these tournament rules. Players are expected to observe proper golf etiquette at all times — repair divots, rake bunkers, and maintain a respectful atmosphere. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.

7.

Scoring & Disputes

Scorecards must be signed by both the team captain and a designated marker from another team. Cards must be submitted to the tournament desk within 20 minutes of completing the round. Any disputes will be resolved by the tournament committee, whose decision is final.

8.

Prizes

Prizes are awarded for: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams; longest drive (designated hole); closest to the pin (designated hole). Additional special prizes may be announced on the day. Prize-winners must be present at the awards dinner to claim their prizes.
