Founded in Houston in 1983, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce Texas (SACC-Texas) is a state-wide business network with local chapters in Austin, Dallas and Houston. SACC-Texas’ local chapters work both individually and jointly to promote trade and investment between Sweden and Texas.
Texas is a state where businesses flourish. A combination of low taxes, skilled labor, great infrastructure, and a growing workforce, has made Texas the choice for more Fortune 500 companies than practically any other state, and has earned it titles such as “Best State for Business 2013” and made Dallas, Houston and Austin lead Forbes’ ranking of “Best Cities for Good Jobs”.

AUSTIN
Austin is the capital of Texas. The city is not only at the cutting edge of the Energy, IT and Software industries, but also highly ranked in terms of well-being and quality of life.
Austin combines favorable conditions for entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation and has been acknowledged:
- The number 1 US city for job creation (Forbes 5/1 2012).
- The city with the best economic recovery, in all of the US and Europe, after the 2008 economic downturn (London School of Economics and Political Science with Deutsche Bank Research).
- Hottest startup scene in the US (Entrepreneur.com 7/15 2013)

Others would mention the rapidly growing creative sector with companies operating within the music, game and digital media industries.
The largest annual SACC event in Austin takes place during the SXSW festival. On a rooftop patio on 6th street in the heart of downtown Austin we have a great variety of music and interactive events attended by over 500 people from Sweden and USA each year.AUSTIN

DALLAS
The Dallas area is home to 18 Fortune 500 companies and more than 200 companies from 34 countries have their US headquarters located or have substantial operations within the region. In 2014 Forbes ranked Dallas as the number one city for jobs but Dallas also has other advantages. The cost of living and doing business is more affordable than in other leading U.S. metropolitan areas. Low taxes, combined with reasonable real estate costs help both businesses and households to make more of their income.
The location in the center of North America is another factor of why the region is attractive. The DFW International Airport is the fourth busiest global airport in the nation giving access to more than 140 cities domestically and more than 40 internationally.
In Dallas you are less than three and a half hours away from all of North America’s major business centers. You are also connected to the world by two class 1 railroads and five interstate highways. Being stationed in Dallas makes reaching your business operations, markets and suppliers easy.
Our member base is largely connected to the tech industry, but there is a spread and our members range from university students to business owners and employees.
We aim to provide our members with different kinds of opportunities to network and create new business connections. We offer an agenda of seminars, educational and social networking events as well as opportunities to create and expand business relationships. Our events are often made in cooperation with our Corporate and Business members, as well as our sponsors.
We also offer our members a Mentorship Program where we link ambitious professionals with knowledgeable professionals and entrepreneurs. In addition to this we have a Young Professionals section (for members under 35) where we aim to connect students and professionals in the beginning or midpoint of their career with people in the same age and situation.

The Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce of the United States of America is the umbrella organization for 20 regional Swedish-American Chambers of Commerce across the U.S. The valuable network consists of more than 2,300 members in Sweden and the U.S.; and is a mix of entrepreneurs and business people, venture capitalists, economic developers, political leaders, individual members, and corporate members.
SACC USA’s mission is to be a bridge between Sweden and the United States, and has positioned itself as a key player in facilitating trade, commerce and investment between the two countries.
The chambers are strategically located in U.S. clusters where there are interest and markets for Swedish products and services.
SACC-USA and the chambers have established strong relationships with Swedish and American organizations and governmental agencies including: Business Sweden; Swedish Council of America, Swedish consulates abroad; American Scandinavian Foundation; the U.S. Department of Commerce and more.
