Sandra Wexén is studying the master’s program International Business & Management at Uppsala University. Starting in August, Sandra will be acting as SACC Texas Intern Marketing Lead, being responsible for marketing of all SACC Texas events.
What is your background?
Originally, I am from a small city in Sweden called Bollnäs where my parents still live. After high school I lived two years in Sydney, Australia and now I am currently enrolled in the master’s program International Business & Management at Uppsala University. Beside my studies I have worked within recruitment and entrepreneurship and been involved in the student organizations in various positions.
What do you hope to accomplish as an intern with SACC Texas?
When I got offered to do my exchange semester at UT, I just knew that I wanted to make the most out of my time in Austin. In this position my goal is to meet new people, expanding my network and gain experience. Additionally, I want to get an insight in the business atmosphere here in Texas and in America in general.
Why did you choose to study in Texas and Austin?
Going to university in America have been a childhood dream since the first time I watched “High School Musical”. I got interested in Austin mainly thanks to the warm weather and the big campus, and when I found suitable courses, I knew I had to apply.
