The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America (SACC-USA) held a successful Executive Forum on May 24, 2018, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden. The Executive Forum focused on business opportunities in the Age of Disruption — the current era of sweeping changes brought about by innovation and technology. It was attended by world-renowned speakers, high level representatives from the Swedish and the American Administration, as well as company executives from both countries.
The forum was filled with interesting panel and round table discussions in the spirit of disruptive technology, such as the panel about Autonomous Systems with Torbjörn Holmström from Volvo, Robert Falck from Einride and Karl Iagnemma from NuTonomy. Other topics included Innovation and Artificial Intelligence and Attracting and Reskilling Talent for Tomorrow. Congressman Randy Hultgren spoke about the great relations between the two countries and the impact of new tariff regulations. Teppo Taurianinen from the Foreign Ministry and Hon. Deborah Wince-Smith from the Council of Competitiveness talked about trade as well as the state of U.S. competitiveness.
The event concluded with a celebration of 200 years of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Sweden, with Ambassador Karin Olofsdotter and former U.S. Ambassador Thomas Siebert speaking about the bond between the two countries, which continue to grow. With a lot of inspiration from this event, we are now preparing for the SACC Summit on Sustainable Business Innovation, which will be hosted in Houston, Texas on Oct. 25 to 26, 2018. We hope to see you there!
