Back in September SAS announced that they will charter two direct flights from Stockholm to Austin during next year’s SXSW festival in March. This will be the first time that Arlanda gets a direct line to the capital of Texas.
Austin is not one of SAS usual destinations in the US. However, during the major tech, music and film festival, there will be two rotations with SK6951/6952 and SK6953/6954 from Arlanda directly to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
“We have noticed an increasing interest from all Scandinavian countries to participate and therefore we want to make it easier for our travelers to come to the festival,” says Fredrik Henriksson, Press Director of SAS.
As there will be two odd flights, SAS is flying over a crew to Austin in advance to take the first return flight home. Same after the second flight.
